IMG_20131013_095506_548Saint Katharine Drexel, as portrayed by Cherie Hughes, will visit Holy Family to recount her memories of inheriting a banking fortune, discerning a vocation to religious life, and founding sixty-three Catholic schools including the school we now call Holy Family Cathedral School.

Cherie Hughes is a parishioner and author. She is writing a biography of Katharine Drexel.

Mrs. Hughes will appear in character and in habit – as Mother Katharine Drexel. She will present a short monologue and take questions. At the conclusion of the event, she will change out of the habit and answer questions about her research and book.

This event will be more than a lecture, rather it will be an experience of one of our country’s most remarkable women.

This event is sponsored by a grant from
