Wednesday at the Cathedral

This Wednesday we will be joined by author Maria Ruiz Scaperlanda. She will be here to discuss her recent book on the life of Father Stanley Rother, martyr.

_MariaScaperlanda527-1Maria is a well known Catholic author and journalist who has been published in Columbia, Our Sunday Visitor, St. Anthony Messenger and other national and diocesan publications.

Maria was part of the commision organized by the Arch Diocese of Oklahoma City that collected information and prepared a report to send to the Vatican, requesting to reopen the cause for Sainthood for Fr. Rother.

Father Stanley Rother was born in Okarche, Oklahoma. Five years after he was ordained he went to Santiago Attilan, Guatemala as a missionary to the Incan Indians.

Please join us for this informational talk on what could very well be the first native Oklahoman Saint.
