DSC_0207Monsignor Gregory Gier the pastor Emeritus celebrated his 50th Anniversary of Ordination this weekend..Monsignor Gier was ordained a priest.

Monsignor Gier was ordained some 50 years ago on May 27, 1967 in the Diocese of OKC, as Oklahoma was one diocese at the time. In 1971 he was assigned to Bishop Kelley and since then has stayed close to the Tulsa area, with assignments  in Bartlesville and Muskogee.

Though he retired as Rector of the Cathedral in 2014 he has remained active, saying mass at the Cathedral, hearing confessions and serving as spiritual director for individuals and organizations.

Thank you for hearing your calling and the years you we here at the Cathedral were blessed to have you. Happy Anniversary Msgr. Gier and here’s to many more years.
