Msgr Gier to Celebrate his Jubilee

Msgr. Gier to celebrate 50 years as a priest.

gier

It is hard to think of a time when we were not blessed by Msgr. Gier and that is because he has been a priest for 50 years.

Gregory Gier was ordained to the priesthood on May 27,1967 by Bishop Victor J. Reed. His resume reads like  history of the Diocese of Tulsa, serving at over 1/2 dozen parishes including here at Holy Family Cathedral as rector. Not only has Msgr. Gier served parishes he has served as Chaplain to organizations throughout the diocese and on boards, including Catholic Charities and Porta Caeli House.

As Rector Emeritus of the Cathedral he is now enjoying a retirement from administrative duties. Msgr. Gier is still active and says mass most weekends here at the Cathedral.

Msgr. Gier will celebrate a Jubilee Mass on Saturday May 27, at 2 p.m. here at the Cathedral on the anniversary of his ordination. On Sunday May 28, Msgr. Gier will also say mass on Sunday May 28 at the noon mass with a reception to follow.

You are invited to come celebrate at either mass and join us in thanking Fr. Gier for 50 years of service to the Lord and his people.
