The 2015 Turkey Drive feeds the hungry

  It’s time again to begin the annual Holy Family Turkey Drive. This is a tradition started by Deacon Tom Gorman and the Knights of Columbus in 2001. Our parish has fed thousands of families. Last year alone, Holy Family parishioners donated 106 turkeys and hams. Can we equal that this year? Can we surpass it? All turkeys and hams deposited in the freezer in the basement of the Cathedral will go to Catholic Charities to be distributed at Thanksgiving. … Read entire article »

In 2001, Mr. Tom Gorman was trying to discern if God was calling him to the diaconate. He had no doubt that God was calling him to feed the hungry. Tom approached the parish Knights of Columbus to see if they would help him collect turkeys and hams to donate to Catholic Charities. The Knights agreed to help.
